About us
Established in 1946, Yorkshire Adoption Agency has an excellent reputation. We work hard to support, assess, train, and approve adoptive parents. We also take great care in matching our adopters to children who are waiting, wherever they live.
As a voluntary adoption agency, we maintain good local partnerships but also work across the UK to make sure we match our adopters to the right children for them.
We are a welcoming organisation. Our adopters say it is great that we have a consistent and supportive staff team who go the extra mile.
Did you know? Last year 80% of our adopters had a match within 6 months.

The children waiting for adoption
Children who are unable to live and grow up with their birth families often need adoptive homes. The children have a wide range of backgrounds, ages, ethnicities, heritages and experiences and are all in need of safe, loving adoptive homes.
In the last year, 2,960 children were adopted in England.
Some children can wait longer to find their adoptive families, many from brother and sister groups, school age children, children with additional needs and those from black and other global majority communities. These children represent approximately 60% of all the children waiting to be adopted.
What makes us different?
Last year 80% of our adopters had a match within 6 months.
